Sheffield Creates More Little LifeSavers

We love it when we create more Little LifeSavers in a new part of the country! This time we took to the North East in Sheffield where our wonderful volunteers, Pauline McCabe, Rosie Anderson and Jean Murphy created 60 more Little LifeSavers.

Little LifeSaver sessions teach children critical lifesaving skills. These free, 1 hour sessions in schools equip children with the skills and confidence they need in an emergency.

Coit Primary School welcome our volunteers

Our team were greeted with smiles from the Year 5 children at Coit Primary School in Sheffield. During their time at the school, they explained and demonstrated to the children what to do if they’re with someone who chokes or collapses and isn’t responding normally.

Thanks to our amazing volunteers, all the children got to practice hands-on CPR, the recovery position and back blows during their free 70-minute scripted session.

Our volunteers said

“This was a great session. The children were super interested and engaged enthusiastically. They were very keen to answer questions and also asked lots of really good questions and shared stories!”

Another volunteer added,  “everyone did really well and was excited to learn they would receive a certificate. The school was very welcoming and made us a coffee! Three teachers stayed with the children and were keen to have a go. They and the children went out of their way to thank the LLS volunteers.”

A 5* review from the school

“The session was engaging without losing the seriousness of the content. Each of the volunteers was excellent with the children and enthusiastic about the work they were doing. We look forward to welcoming them back for some of our other year groups”

Can you help us too?

We’d love to meet and reach more children in Sheffield and surrounding areas with these essential skills because 80% of cardiac arrests that don’t happen in hospital, happen at home!

Keep our sessions free for the children by sponsoring a child at www.buymeacoffee.com/LittleLifeSaver/. Just the price of a coffee creates a Little LifeSaver and means we can keep supporting volunteers.

Join our volunteer family at www.littlelifesavers.org/get-involved/ and create Little LifeSavers where you are – we’re always looking to reach more areas nationwide!

Invite your school to book a Session for free!
