Little LifeSavers Created

Little LifeSavers is a charity that teaches a simple, scripted bystander-CPR skills session to schoolchildren across the UK for free. Sessions are video supported, taking 70 minutes to deliver by our registered volunteers and are available to children in school years 5-8 (aged 9 to 13 years) only.

Our volunteers come from all backgrounds and benefit by practising the skills regularly through teaching the children, which increases their confidence to help a collapsed casualty. Previous CPR training is helpful but not necessary

Volunteer training is online. Once sign up is complete volunteers join a local group whom we can ask for availability when schools request sessions. Volunteers help us promote the charity and fundraise too

80% of cardiac arrests happen at home - would your children know what to do if it was you?
Our Young Ambasador Max, explains why he values knowing CPR and invites you to join us.

Max's Message

Two of the children we've trained have used the skills to save lives. Read their stories here.

HALF of all cardiac arrests are witnessed by a bystander. Learn what to do, in case that bystander is you.

Why is CPR so Important?

Of the 50,000 or so sudden cardiac arrests occurring out of hospital each year in the UK, 80% happen in the home, and 1 in 6 within the workplace. Only a fifth of these will receive CPR from a bystander, and survival rates are currently a dismal 8%. Equipping and empowering the next generation to take safe simple action could save lives.

Sessions take just 70 minutes of teaching time and no expertise is necessary. Our simple we-show-you, you show-the-children session means they could help if mum or dad collapses at home.

I enjoyed it and I liked doing the actual CPR on the models.

Lily

The session was extremely well run, the children thoroughly enjoyed it. It was lovely to see the children so engaged. I would highly recommend using this charity for teaching children in school. It was a fantastic workshop, the team ran it so efficiently, the children really enjoyed taking part. It was lovely to all of the children so engaged. The skills are taught in such a clear way. We look forward to doing it again soon.

I feel that now that I’ve done that training I know that out there I don’t need to be worried if something happens to someone because I could help.
Rex
Pupil - West Chiltington School
The children were completely engaged and benefited from the training. The training was well delivered and engaging for all.
Teacher Feedback
The opportunity for the pupil’s to experience life-saving techniques ‘hands-on’ was most beneficial because it made the theory real! The team encouraged pupils questions and provided well-considered answers.
Teacher Feedback
Watching the children learn about this important life skill was an absolute pleasure; the instructors pitched the level just right and the children were completely engaged and eager to learn throughout. The session was well-resourced and gave children a real hands-on experience that will no doubt stay with them for a long time to come. Only a week after the training, one of our Year Five pupils put their knowledge into action to help her little sister who was choking on a crisp. Thank you Little Lifesavers for creating a true little lifesaver!
